  1. Server side

    1. Organizational database O.DB specification

      Stores essential information about

      • Involved persons: trainees and teachers
      • Working sessions: when, who, what ?
      • Actual work being done: log files and scores
      Access rights:
      • Trainee accesses to all data concerning him/herself
      • Teacher accesses to data concerning his/her students, him/herself and his/her assignments

       
    2. Pedagogical database P.DB specification

      Stores pedagogical content:

      • Quizzes: items, questions and system treatment to trainee's expected reactions
      • Rules: functions for scoring and computing paths through quizzes
      Access rights:
      • During working session, system accesses to quizzes for designed assignment
      • Teacher accesses to all P.DB

     

     

  2. Client side

    1. Training interface specification

      Training interface is designed for simple and robust use.

      Promath system user's attention should focus on math training and not on interface manipulation. Therefore interface is designed to minimize interface manipulations. User is asked to fill blanks with short answers, and to perform answer printing s/he uses either keystrokes - for very short answers - or especially designed widgets.

      While training with Promath system, the student has no possibility of writing nor experimenting on computer screen. Thus, student is almost forced to using pen and paper. Promath system purpose is to enable students of actually doing mathemetics in real world's conditions.
       

    2. Editing interface

      Promath editing interface is intended for teacher's use only.

      It is designed to fill two categories of needs:

      • enabling teacher, while preparing working sessions for trainees, to view quizzes and to design assignments for students groups
      • enabling teacher to create quizzes

       
    3. Consulting interface

      Promath consulting interface is for both trainee and teacher. With Promath consulting interface, you may access log files and scores concerning either yourself or your students, depending on your situation.
